May 18 – Our Library

I’ve taken my camera with us to the library every time we have gone for the last month. Today I actually took a picture!

Part of the library is in an old historical home that was donated to the city to be used as a library. An addition that holds most of the books was added later. The building is beautiful and the combination of old and new has created a wonderful place to discover new books.

May 17 – Decorating the Apartment

Since our apartment is temporary (less than 3 weeks left!), there is nothing but white walls in every room. Bebop found the roll of tape and begged to hang up his pictures.

He’s very proud of his drawings and points them out daily. This has been a good chance for him to learn the terms horizontal and vertical to describe the way the pictures are placed on the wall. It’s pretty cute to hear him use such big words, even when he mixes them up.

May 16 – Collecting Rainwater

Today we had a nice warm spring rain that started right as Magoo woke up from his nap. Both boys wanted to play in the little bit of rain on our porch. Bebop tried to collect rainwater, but he was too impatient to hold the container for very long.

The little bit of water that Bebop managed to collect didn’t last very long. Magoo dumped out the water as soon as he was able to get a hold of the cup.

Completely unrelated but still pretty cute: We had spaghetti for dinner and Magoo smeared more on his face than I think he actually ate. As soon as I got out the camera, he started to ham it up and make all kinds of faces. I had to wash his hair twice and I still couldn’t quite get all the orange out.

May 15 – Labels

Bebop loves to draw pictures. He starts asking for blank paper as soon as I get out of bed in the morning, and keeps asking for more all day long regardless of how many pages I give him. I’m seriously considering buying this kid a ream of paper for Christmas.

In the past week, Bebop has started labeling his pictures. Today he drew a turtle and labeled the tail, legs and shell. Then he tore off small pieces of painters tape and made labels for things around the house. Bebop made labels for Magoo, Ozzy (who was not pleased with the activity), and me.
